Bought a few portholes from a nice lady in colwyn bay North Wales, they come out of an old ship that was being broke up for salvage in India, i thought they would be perfect for pyrites and match the iron rivets, new portholes would look odd on our old boat,

It only took a couple of days to install the portholes 3 on one side and 4 on the other as we have a side hatch on that side, i think they look quiet good and match the boat, the most expensive part is going to be the liners for inside but that will have to wait until the interior is ripped out as we have had a few leaks which has rotted the floor rite through, as you can see one side of the vessel is black and one blue, i will get round to painting her before the winter sets in
This is the new hatch on the boat as it previously had a set of doors 3x4 ft. As you can imagine squeezing through that after a few pints was a bit of a challenge.

This is the our boat Pyrites. Pyrites is registered with British Waterways with number 62983 as a powered craft with a historic metal hull by an unknown builder in 1898.
Length 48 feet 5 inches (14.75m); Beam - 6 feet 9 inches (2.07m).
We are starting to slowly renovate the boat, we will keep updating this blog as much as possible.
